Did you also replace the filter drier?
As mentioned you should also consider replacing the dryer if the system was empty for any length of time. As for adding the oil I often pour it into the hose in the manifold so it can get drawn in with the new refrigerant OR I put a little in the part during replacement but never put it directly into the suction side of the compressor you could damage it, I’m sure it will be a very small amount so don’t go overboard here. You can find the amount of oil required after condenser replacement in the factory service manual.
When I was taking my car to get the ac system recovered, there was some pressure in the system. Also, I did not replace the drier. Could I get away with not replacing the drier due to the fact that I don’t have a lot of money to spend?
I wasn’t going to go overboard with the oil. I was going to put what ever amount close to what ever dropped on the ground.
