Hi guys – newbie to this forum, not to forums or cars in general. Staring with my list … 2011 Chevy Cruze Eco (I used to build the protos back in ’07-’08 at Borg-Warner Automotive PTC in Auburn Hills, MI when I went to GMI in Flint,MI), 2002 Toyota Tundra (fire truck/brush truck, and what I take if I expect bad weather or am going on a fire call … lights galore, radio equipment “out the wazoo”, welder truck for my job, off-road package, tow package, etc.), and a 1995 Pontiac Firebird “Firehawk” Trans Am rounds it out … currently a stock model LT1 (the year before they started the LT4’s, still got the additional 30 horses to 315 vs. 275), and one day, if I ever stop buying “toys”, it WILL be a 500+hp car, but right now, blown engine, needs starter, oil pump, water pump, optispark, driveshaft, paint, interior (flooded during Sandy – it is at my parent’s barn in NJ on the farm), rear axle, transmission, clutch, etc. Yeah, I will probably put 5+ years, and 20k+ in it, but it pulled out of SLP’s (Street Legal Performance for those unfamiliar with it – a partnership they had with GM where they built “factory” cars with high-performance exhaust and suspension and such for a “steep” price) shop (it’s “DOB” so to speak) the same day me and my gf met (day/month/year), so I will not be selling it anytime soon. Oh, the firehawk is a t-tops, fully-loaded, MMM car (maroon metallic) with the M6 (T-56 borg-warner, 6-speed manual transmission rated for 530hp with “minor” mods to the trans itself), making it literally 1/1 (the only one with those options, even ignoring the build date of 9-20-94).
A little more about me … I work in the field, and office, as the Junior GIS Analyst, a certified PLLS and PLPS (Professional Licensed Land Surveyor and Photogrammetric Surveyor), and am also a certified Black Hat coal miner and Mine Rescue certified from my time with Federal #22. I work for a small surveying/engineering company out of the “city” of Wades (not much there really … used to be a gas station/general store, used to be a bank, used to be a lumber mill, and used to be a diner until they moved to Hundred). Live out in the sticks, not really a particular town, and a member of the Volunteer Fire Department out here, certified at that for extraction, EMT/Medical, Chemical Spill cleanup, fire1/2/3, and do some of the mechanical and electrical work at the fire hall/on the trucks.
What’s troubling me is a little flat-head in a welder I bought … but I’ll save that for another thread. Either way, glad to be here. So, flame away … :cheer:
