p0441 is for purge flow. I would find the diagram under the_x000D_
hood. check the electrical connector to the purge solenoid._x000D_
also check the vent on the canister for blockage. you should also test_x000D_
the solenoid itself. look at the hose themselves for breakage

If you suspect a vacuum hose issue, the best way to diagnose those is with a smoke machine.

Don’t assume out of the gate it’s a canister problem as stated it’s a code for a purge control issue which could be a clog in the line, a problem with the solenoid or the wiring or controls going to it.

This happens when habitually over-filling the tank (topping-off, ‘necking’, etc). The carbon canister is designed to vent into the fuel filler neck. There is usually a foam block or seal in the charcoal canister to keep the carbon pellets inside it. This seal gets eaten away when liquid fuel runs ‘backwards’ into the canister vent from the filler neck. There is supposed to be a check valve in this line to prevent liquid fuel from entering the canister, but this valve is damaged by repeated exposure to liquid fuel, and eventually fails, allowing fuel to run through the vent into the canister. Once the seal is destroyed by fuel, the carbon pellets inside the canister can be drawn by engine vacuum through the line and make their way to the purge valve in the engine compartment. The pellets plug up the valve and vent line, and cause this code to throw. Fuel smell inside the cabin along with this code is a symptom of this exact condition. If you remove the canister from the vehicle and pellets spill out of it, that confirms this diagnosis. The vent line will have to be disconnected at both ends and blown out with compressed air, the canister will need to be replaced, and possibly also the canister vent check valve near the filler neck. The purge valve may additionally need to be replaced if it has become damaged by the carbon pellets and won’t hold vacuum. To prevent this condition from re-occurring, never over-fill the fuel tank (do not continue to pump fuel past when the pump handle clicks off).
