HElp. Is this timing belt on the correct way with these settings?
      seems like its off.

I started with Cam setting marks all lined up. I forgot to check the Crank tdc prior to adjusting the valves on cyl1. After adjusting cyl1 I rotated the crank 90 deg and noticed that cyl4 valves didnt have the same height?

You really need to figure out if the cam pulley and crank pulley are aligned properly. Double and triple check this to make sure that they’re OK. If they’re not, then you’re going to have to take it apart and make sure that the timing is dead on before you adjust your valves. Make sure it’s right and your head will thank you.

            STOP!!!!!
STOP right there. Go back and start over. With TDC #1 determined, as only THEN you can adjust the valves.

My title to the post was “How to set cam and Crank prior to valve adjustment.”, and you basically respond with: “You really need to set cam and crank prior to valve adjustment.” NO SH*T. duh.

              Thanks for the help.

Did you not look at the pictures I posted?
My question was what is the proper way to set BOTH THE CAM AND CRANK PRIOR TO ADJUSTING VALVES.

                good god.

On a given cylinder, if the corresponding valve is fully open, you can adjust the other — think about it. If the exhaust is fully open, then the intake can be adjusted, know what I mean ? All it really is that you are not adjusting the valve when on the valve is opening, or open. They don’t have to both be at closed with cylinder at TDC, just 1. . Just make sure that you look at one cylinder at a time Or in your case, if you can see the cam lobes, and you are rotating it, adjust the rocker than you can see is on the base circle directly opposite the cam lobe.
