i’ll be pulling a cylinder head (with cam assembly) from the local LKQ to repair my 95 accord (f22b2).
my question is, what steps should be done to prep the head before swapping it onto the block?

thanks in advance for the insight and advice!

Take to a qualified machine shop.
        Have the flatness checked.
If you didn’t or could do a compression check..
Might also be a good idea to have the valves and seats looked at.
another item… have any seals replaced.

I don’t remember if that head uses torque to yield bolts, if so, invest in a new quality set along with a quality head gasket.

+1. Flatness is critical, and should be checked on your block too. While at the machine shop, have the cam bearings inspected and perhaps replaced as well.

Make sure you don’t pull a head off an engine that has a broken timing belt/chain.
