I did a heater core on a 02 Taurus, thermostat and a flush. It was for a family member, and well I don’t know how much to charge it took me about 7 hours , but it was my 1st heater core I’ve doned. What would be a reasonable price? Parts where 110

Considering a shop would charge a fortune, you saved them plenty of cash. Yeah it is family so you want to help but cannot go free.

I would say $200 would be reasonable. That will compensate your $110 for parts and give you 90 bucks labor. That’s $13 an hour if you want to think of it in those terms. PLUS you gained some experience which you cannot put a price tag on.

You could call a decent shop and ask how much they charge for that. I bet it is at least $500. Of course you cannot really charge shop labor fees.

Just for the heck of it, read thru this thread about a 2004 Mercury Sable (same thing as taurus.) http://www.city-data.com/forum/automotive/551038-will-really-cost-1500-fix-my-2.html
