This is assuming I do all the work myself. I recently decided I want to get rid of my Buick Lacrosse due it being slow, and the limited amount of aftermarket parts available.

I owe a little over 8k, but I can sell it for 12.6k if someone is willing to pay KBB value for it.

I am looking at this car:

But I was told on the 3800pro forums that due to the mileage it would be wise to do a trans overhaul on it.

I’ve watched my classmates tear apart a 4t60e and it seemed pretty simple, so I’m assuming that the 65e-hd is similar, can anyone comfirm this for me? I don’t want to buy the car and end up with sh!t up to my neck.

There are quite a few videos on you-tube that cover this trans. It doesn’t seem to be anymore difficult than any other auto trans. Just remember that in rebuilding any auto trans, cleanliness of parts, work-area, tools, hands, etc is your best friend. I also recommend a GOOD manual or instructional DVD.

Good luck and let us know,
