How do I repair a fuel line on 2002 Honda CRV?

How do I go about installing a quick connect fitting to the high pressure fuel line on a 2002 Honda CRV? Hot water doesn’t get the fuel line hot enough to stretch over the fitting. I have a heat gun but I don’t know if that’s safe to use.

My question is why?

My brother broke the original fitting when he removed the head. Instead of taking his time and disconnecting every hose/plug/wire he just randomly jerked everything out. He also broke the oil pressure sending unit while doing an oil change which cost my mother $86 as she could only find the part at a Honda dealership. I’m not gonna beat around the bush. My brother is what you would call a redneck/shady tree mechanic. I tried to get my mother to take it to her local shop, but he convinced her that he could do it for “next to nothing”. Long story short. You get what you pay for.
