I had a jack that I couldn’t get things quite high enough, then I found that my jack was low in hydraulic oil due to my storing it in its’ carry case sideways with the release open. When I topped that oil off, I suddenly was able to jack things high enough to put stands where I need.

Just wanted to throw that out as something to check.

You could always do one side at a time using the pinch welds. These are the downward facing seams along/under the rocker panels. You don’t have to do both sides at the same time if your jack doesn’t go high enough. Make sure you chock the opposite wheels. For instance, if you are raising the rear end, put something in front of the front tires, and vice versa. Use the trans or the parking brake to assist you in either case.

Have you tried the pinch welds at the rear of the car in front of the rear tires and lifting one side adding a jack stand then doing the other side?

I am confused – If I lift using the rear pinch welds, where can I put the jack stands?

wat u can do is try to jack up the car from the rear tow hook or around those areas, just be careful its secure and wont damage the car and than u can put the jack stands on the pinch welds (thats how ive done it especially since its easier for me since my car is slammed ^^)

Yes, that is what I have been trying – but every time I do that I end up jacking as high as my 3 ton Sears jack can go, but still not high enough for my 3 ton jack stands to slide under. I was able to do this once by adding a block of 2×4 on top of the jack but I feel unsafe doing this because the hook isn’t flat and adding a flat piece of wood does not look right.

is your car stock height? (asking cuz my car is lowered and can not even fit a small jack under it) wat u can also try is lifting it from under the control arms, where the control arms connect to the body, under where the bushing is, im not sure if it will work, i would go check lifting points on my integra but its pouring outside so i cant check rite now, try to see if u can do that if u cant ill go check

In that situation I normally go for where the rear control arm attaches to the body in the inside mount, you’ll need to do one side at a time but it does work.

I just use a short 4×4. Also, if the jack stand is just a little to tall, you can often slide it in from the back, to the front of the body pinch welds. Getting closer to making a video on how to jack up Civics.
