Honda Maintenance Minder System Question

From the FAQ Section:
Synthetic oil is not recommended by Honda. Your Honda has been designed and engineered to run properly on the oil type recommended in your owner’s manual. The Maintenance Minder calculates your vehicles needs based on the recommended oil by Honda engineers that designed your engine. Using synthetic oil will not extend your service interval.

So would using Synthetic Oil be a problem, this sounds crazy to me.

Using synthetic oil is not a problem. What the problem is using the maint. minder
will want you to change the oil probably more frequent then what synthetic will go.
Here is the problem people may want to run the synthetic oil longer but it could be
to long and cause issues. How Honda is covering there ass is to not recommend
synthetic and use convention oil and when the bell goes off change it. This way it gets
changed more frequent and everybody is happy. What you could due is track your milage
and change it that way or use synthetic and when the MM goes off change it.
