Honda Hood Bar

Hi, I really don;t know what the bar is called that is used to hold the hood up with on my Honda, but the issue is that it basically comes out of the “holder”. my friends Honda does excatly the same thing, although his is more difficult to completely remove.

So I’m thinking that this is a common issue that perhaps others have fixed to be like factory working?

Any help/ideas will be appreciated and of course immortalized here on the forum 🙂

I would say hood prop rod. Try and google
your year make and model hood prop rod.
You could visit the local Honda parts department
and they can pull up an exploded view and sell you
what you need. 🙂

That little plastic clip that holds the hood prop rod breaks easily. I just had to replace mine on my 08 Civic. I got mine online from http://www.bernardiparts.com/Departments/Maintenance.aspx, they have the exploded parts diagrams and are much cheaper than if you drive to the dealers parts department.
