First- do you have a cel light on ? I will assume you do if you unplugged the map while running. I would check for any codes.
next I would check to make sure the throttle cable didn’t get somehow kinked during the repair process. if it is it could hold the throttle open to far at idle. how is the timing ? possible the timing marks are off.

yep there is a code popping… and it says air temp sensor circuit 1…i believe if im correct the air temp sensor on this car is the one directly at the other end of the upper intake, picture left side of the intake with the filter tube connected, map sensor on top, and at the end of the upper intake is the air temp sensor…
December 4, 2011 at 11:00 am #446645+1 on rechecking your work as well as timing.
December 5, 2011 at 11:00 am #446646I think you might have mixed up the plugs for the coolant temp sensor. There are 2 very similar connectors for both the coolant temp and I believe the other one is for the air temp, one is white and one is green. The white one goes to the white connector and the green one goes to the green connector. If that’s not the case then check for vacuum leaks, I don’t believe it’s a sensor problem or anything like that it’s most likely something you did so go back and recheck all your work as has been suggested. Good luck.
December 19, 2011 at 11:00 am #446647rechecked and the timing was way off.. i used a trick to see if i had the engine at top dead center.. i used a wire hanger, i straightened of course, put in the 1st cylinder spark plug well and hand turned the engine to see when it moved up (when the piston was coming up) and down, and was i off.. i turned back to t.o.c and i also removed the cam to set it back to t.o.c as well… checked the distributor to see if was positioned correctly.. now its time to see if it all works…
December 19, 2011 at 11:00 am #446648Glad you found the problem, keep us posted.
December 22, 2011 at 11:00 am #446649Just out of curiosity how far off was “way off” A tooth? 2 teeth? etc. I just did the timing belt on an Accord and I think I might be a hair off as well.
December 22, 2011 at 11:00 am #446650Next time all you would need to do is check the actual timing marks on the engine, it’s not necessary to check the piston location as you did it’s much easier just to line up and observe the marks in my opinion.
December 24, 2011 at 11:00 am #446651Hey try cleaning IAC Valve and I send you an email on how to clean IAC valve with pictures. But please keep us posted about what exactly helped you out more for you to get rid of that problem.
October 9, 2012 at 3:03 am #467608I KNOW IM LIKE YRS PAST DUE WITH THIS …BUT ALL THE ADVICE HELPED, I TOOK OF THE IDLE CONTROL VALVE WHICH PROVED TO BE VERY VERY TRICKY WITH THE TIGHT SPACE BETWEEN THE FRAME WALL AND THE THROTTLE BODY BUT I DID IT AND IT NEEDED CLEANING BAD.. I ALSO FOUND OUT I WAS 2 TEETH OFF WITH THE TIMING… HAD TO USE THE WIRE HANGER TRICK BECAUSE AT THE TIME COULD NOT GET THAT DARN CRANKSHAFT NUT TO BREAK BUT WHEN I DID .. I WAS OFF… AND NOW SIDE FOR POSSIBLE 1 PISTON RING BEING FRIED ALL IS GOOD
