I’m working on a project and i want to know how CV axle shafts are manufactured. Specifically Honda axle shafts. I’m doing project on why my axle shaft broke, and i want to find out the max shear strength of the shaft. I looked on honda parts site and other online part sites, none has any material property or the process of how its made.

How honda manufactures these shafts? and what material do they use? And how much torque can these shafts handle?

One last question, how much horse power is produced at 5000 rpm 2nd gear? (2003 honda accord 3L V6, automatic)
      Thanks.

I can’t answer your questions but will say this. Honda does not manufacture their halfshafts. They are just like everyone else’ it’s farmed out to some aftermarket supplier.

There could be variations based on which supplier made them or the time period in which they’re manufactured.

The same goes for brake components, steering and suspension parts, bearings, electrics, clutches, you name it.
