      Hi Eric

I followed one of your videos and replaced the rear pads. All seemed fine but after about 400km pulsing started on right side. I took the calliper off and found the wear detector had got bent and was stopping the pad from moving freely. I straightened it up and reassembled. Everything looks fine, but pulsing remains. The noise is audible even when not braking and under light braking, but goes away under heavier braking. This was the first pad replacement at 90,000km and the rotors look perfect. Could that short period with the one pad jammed have caused some distortion of the rotor? Will it settle in?

      Stew, Durban South Africa.

Make sure the pad with the wear indicator is on the inside with indicator down.

is it a noise or can you feel it?

You can hear it and feel it. Pads are correctly installed with wear detector on inside at bottom.

              I would say rotor warp.

i thought a lot of heat was needed for warping, not just neibourhhod driving? What about deposits on the rotor, seems most commented on in other forums. Anyone experienced or cured this?

Just discovered hairline crack on each side of the rotor. That’s the problem, but how did it happen?

There is no fix for warped rotors other than resurfacing
or replacement. cheap rotors and pads will give cheap results.

Where exactly on the rotors are they cracked?

I would reccomend replacing them with OE rotors and taking care to clean the mating surface on the hub of any rust or corrosion.

Brakes live in a harsh environment. sometimes not using
the e brake. then using it can get stuck.also misadjusted
                          brakes.
