      Hi Eric or anyone else,

I have a 2013 Honda CR-V all wheel drive. Whenever I let my foot off of the brake pedal at a traffic light to start accelerating my brakes make sort of a squeaking noise. Should I be concerned about this or just let it be? I read somewhere on the web that this is common not only on the cr-v but on the accord and the civic as well. Is this a Honda problem or should I have the dealer take a look at my next oil change?

I would mention it on the next oil change.

I had a 2010 Accord that was two years old w/20k miles on it that made the sound… I ended up replacing the pads (with plenty of pad left)… The sound went away… Have your dealer check this out…

You might try a brake service to see if that helps the issue.

In addition, the #1 cause of brake noise in my experience is the friction material used. Cheap materials yield cheap results. I write more about this in this article.
