      Hi guys, hope you’re well.

My friend had a check engine light come on. It went out before he brought it round to me (it had the 50 clean starts and then went out) but it had the stored code of P1025.

Looking on this awesome site I have found out that it is the VTEC sticking.

Now, unfortunately my friend’s maintenance schedule is poor. He hasn’t had it serviced for ages so I’m thinking the diagnosis would be to top up the oil if needed, get him to give it a good thrashing and then come back for an oil change. Do you agree?

      Cheers 🙂

      Steve.

        Hi again guys,

Ok, so I got the code wrong! lol

The correct code was P1259 – VTEC system circuit fault

Can anybody recommend what to do about this?

        Cheers.

Sorry not bumping the thread but has anyone got any ideas on this? I got my buddy coming round in a couple of hours and I’m not really sure where to go. I saw elsewhere online that the VTEC solenoid is potentially the culprit. If so, do you know how to test this? 🙂

          Thanks.

see if this helps. Check your oil level is correct and the
correct weight and viscosity is being used.
