Honda civic stock muffler

I am replacing the fart can muffler on my 97 hatch, and I want to know what other civics have compatable mufflers.

I’m assuming you have a 1.6L single cam motor? If that’s the case then the muffler from any other honda with a 1.6L single cam motor should work just fine.

So, i have muffler from a 6th gen civic coupe, and its just a bit too long

I would check with your parts professional on that one. I really can’t see installing a used muffler for this which would be the only reason to have that information in my opinion.

I seem to have answered my question through trial and error. The only muffler that will fit is one from another 6th gen hatch. The ones from the coupes and sedans are too long

Yea, I’ve run into that myself. Sedans have a longer wheel base so they exhaust parts for those are always a bit longer.
