      Hi,
I have a 2013 honda Si. When I shift into first I occasionally hear a metallic noise( best way I could describe noise). I get this noise only shifting into first does not seem to interfere with operation of car. I have research on internet I get anything from throw out bearing to idler pulley(.
      What ,if anything, fixes this?

If it was the idler pulley I would think it would make noise all the time and really does not
have anything to do with shifting. Input shaft or throw out bearing.

Question: if it’s an input shaft bearing would I have an issue while shifting through all the gears and not just 1st gear and would the noise be intermittent or would it manifest all the time?

I would think you would have more noise problems if it was input shaft related. usually the
throw out bearing gets dry and makes a whirling sound when the clutch is not engaged.

The “metallic” noise I hear happens when engaging clutch into 1st gear. Very intermitent

you could have something chipped on the 1st gear itself

Or its syncro. Basically the tranny needs rebuild/replace.
