      Hi Eric,
I would like to how you would handle the Honda Civic (6th generation) lower control arm bolts while replacing the rear shocks.

This is a super common problem and to be honest there is no ‘fix’ or way to do it other than be prepared to replace the lower arms when you do that work. You can’t heat them and air hammers also don’t work because of the bushing, there really is no way to do it without damaging the bushings unfortunately so have new control arms in hand when you start that work.

Some guys must get lucky since i have seen videos and writeups and photos where guys got those bolts loose without breaking off the bolt heads.

It is true that you can get lucky but in my experience it’s not often so it’s good to be prepared with a new set of control arms just in case.
