Honda civic ex d16y8

The motor has a real bad knock. Told the motor was shot. Got a new one out of junk yard, but it is a d16y7 and has no place for the VTEC selenoid. Can I take rods and otherbpartsband exchange them in the d16y8 . everything looks the same same numbers on the inside of valve cover

I don’t have a good answer here. 🙁 maybe measure the push rods?

The block should be stamped on the front. So if you were looking at the block, it would be on the side with the exhaust manifold, to the left.
