      HI guys,
Can someone please help me Ive went through 3 mechanics 3 friends acouple of websites I even tried to myself.
I cant pass smog Im really low on cash after going around with all these people ideas.

I clean my car out with the sea foam through the brake booster hose line because i failed the CO and the HC but i pass my nox so i end up gettin a mechanic online. But after he adjusted my D cap and the throttle body golden screw the one that lets air in and my moms friend thats a mechanic did same thing i believe its out of spec.

I am not the best in the repair world of cars im more of a electronic guy just when i got my car to work from my friend brutally spraying water under my hood without covering electrical i had to dry it all out. but yeah it runs now but my main problem now is my car shakes when i step on the brake but it happens when i put it in R or D and when im at stop sign or red light please help me cuz i feel so wrong when this happens i have to step on the brake n give it gas just to not hear the pipe shake.(im getting crazy looks at every intersection i stop at even from those people who laugh at me and their car have a crazy dent on it and they still laugh at me)

Things I have done to try to fix it.
I open the butterfly valve wipe with rag.I clean the ICV not sure if its the best cleaning and if it still good but my car runs with it back on .I check for leak but not sure if i did it good enough I wish their was a easy way.I cleaned out my air filter.I burped the car and put it in hot mode heater inside car etc.

Things I remember the mechanics did not do.
They installed d cap etc but they did not stick the two pins in my thing port to make ecu the check engine light come on etc so im not sure if they has somthing to do with my problem?.

When I turn on car it starts up rpm 1000 to 1500 it warms up after awhile it lower alil then i drop my ebrake slap that bad boy in reverse while i hold onto the brake pedal let go alil then my rmp drops to 300 car start rattling under my car like the pipe is banging against my gas tank etc n my face is like oooo my goodness she might die on me man then im like no please dont go on me yet. it happens on D too. does not happen on N or park no shaking sound. 2nd time i try to smog it shake so much i got moving violation n it couldnt even finish the test to give me results.

MY car Honda civic 1994 ex vtec coupe 1.6l the canada one sohc

Can you guys help me or Eric the car guy god maybe you can please help me please guys i cant afford another bill i lost my job going through hard times im even wondering if i should move my d cap to make the rpm go higher thing is i dont have a timing gun and i have no idea where that thing is so i can get it at 16 degrees? if you guys have a pic or something draw a circle make it easy even i can get maybe i might get it right please guys.

also if it helps the shaking and low rpm happens when i put the gear in R or D it drops to 300rpm and i have to be steping on the brake it happens sometimes sometimes it doesnt if im lucky but it does do it in N or when im in P and i step on the brake. also my throttle cable and the throttle screw to let air in and my d cap was tinkered with alot and then this problem arose the other day tho i turned my co 2 sensor on my header n it profrom cool with no shakes i thought i fixed it but as soon as i drove off the co2 kinda got lose again n i had to turn it to the right u think my thread or something jacked on there?

If the mechanic did not jump the SCS connector and put it it in “check mode” before setting the base timing, I’d have that rechecked. However if they were tapped into the underhood diagnostic connector with something like a MasterTech, I could understand as that tool does this through the scantool.

In my experience these problems are often caused by the people working on them. Mainly adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body, or making other adjustments incorrectly. I’ve written extensively about these problems and how to correct them here. Perhaps it can offer some insight.
