      Hi ErictheCarGuy and everyone:

What are your thoughts on Limited Slip Differentials (LSD)?

What I’m thinking of doing is installing an LSD on my 2004 Honda Civic. I don’t intend to race – just improve traction. here in Canada we get a fair bit of snow (except for this year) so often times one wheel spins more in slippery situations. I’ve read that an LSD will improve traction but since I’ve never had experience with one, I’m posing the question out there to see if anyone can share some light.

      I’ve looked at
      1. Phantom Grip (or phantom slip as I’ve read in some forums)
      2. OBX and MFactory helical LSD’s
      3. OS GIken (may be when I win the lotto)

I’ve also thought about using LSD’s from Civic Si or an Integra (if I find any). Does anyone know about the parts compatability between different models/years?

      Any opinion is appreciated.

Lsd is a good improvement in slippery conditions.

If you have a base model Civic and are worried about traction, the best thing you can do is get proper winter tires if you don’t have them already. Beyond that, adjusting your driving habits accordingly.
