Honda Civic 1997 Coupe lighting & side mirror

I just bought a Honda Civic Ex Coupe 1997 and I have the following issues:

1) All interior dome lights (roof and trunk) don’t work (bulbs are good). “Door” nor “On” functions work. NOTE: “On” used to work but my clumsy-self tried to remove the bolts of the dome light casing and my wrench slipped and touched something (probably a wire..)it sparked and stopped working.

2) My driver side mirror does not work and the passenger side works without a problem. I bought a new left side mirror, plugged it in and still no response.

1) Check the fuses first. If it still doesn’t work problem is likely in the switch.
2) Problem may be in the switch that selects which mirror you’re adjusting but you should measure the switch. Another likely possibility is that problem is in the wires going to mirror most likely in where they go into door.

+1 Check the fuses, it’s likely you blew one when you tried removing the dome light. Once you’ve checked the fuses, recheck the operation of the mirror and interior lights. If they still don’t work.
