My wife’s 09 CR-V has had the check fuel cap indicator off and on for the past few months. Since the message was clear (not really), we tightened the cap, cleaned the surface and eventually replaced the cap with a Honda OE part. I reset the code by disconnecting the battery after giving it a couple of days to go away with no luck. Based on what I’m reading, I have access to Alldata, it is most likely either the Evap canister purge valve or the Evap canister vent shut valve. I do not want to swap parts for the sake of changing parts. Can anyone here confirm that one of these parts will fix the problem or is there a way to fix them if they are sticking mechanically? The MIL has not lit up either.
