I just adjusted the valves on my 1994 accord and found that the exhaust valves were extremely tight and could not get my .012″ feeler gauge between the valve stem and rocker arm. I adjusted all valves with the cam lobes opposite the rocker and used the base circle at time of adjustment. I used a .010″ feeler for intake. I made it so all feeler gauges had “slight” drag, not binding (I went on the loose side of things as to not over tighten).
The important part here is that I now have more noise. Should I readjust them to be a little bit tighter or should these settle in on a short drive? And out of curiosity, is there any damage to slightly loose valves?
