Hey guys, in regards to a Transmission flush done by machine, i read that it can damage the transmission, so one should do the flush manually by draining the transmission, fill back up, drive around, drain, fill back up, etc. Any thought as to what is the best way to flush, or just drain and fill up one time and then change fluid again at next recommended interval, thanks in advance, Jim

A drain and refill is good. If you wanted you could do the drive
and drain. no machine.I have done dozens of transmission flushes with a machine and have never had a problem. To be sure you can drain and fill a couple of times if you wish.
That said, there are 2 different types of machines. A fluid exchange and a machine that pumps out the old fluid as the new fluid is injected. The exchange machine is best in my opinion.
It’s not likely the shop you would take it to would have Honda fluid in their transmission flush machine. I strongly recommend against using anything but Honda transmission fluid in a Honda transmission. That said, a flush is not required unless there is an issue. I do not recommend ‘flushing’ as a maintenance procedure. The only thing that’s necessary is to do a drain and refill about every 30K and you should be fine. More info here.
