      Hey all,

Wonder if anyone can help me with this issue.

A few months ago I replaced my downpipe of my exhaust with a aftermarket pipe. But now I seem to have a whistle when accelerating over 2.5k.

I’ve checked for intake leaks – not found any. (thanks for the videos Eric)
the best way of describing the noice is like a turbo spooling up.

The noice is not there when car is stationary only when moving.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks
      Andi

So does it make the noise when you are stationary but push the accelerator?
Does the noise coincide with vehicle speed or engine rpm?
The exhaust may be rubbing against a moving part, like a CV boot.

Just verifying the info. You replaced an exhaust part, but checked the intake for leaks? I have an 02 Acura TL. The seal started leaking on the exhaust. Didn’t notice it unless nailing the gas when cold and got to around 3 grand. Sounds somewhat like you described. I replaced the gasket and bolts at that union, problem solved. Did you use new gaskets when installing the exhaust parts. I would check the downpipe to exhaust pipe connection. If you can’t verify a leak, and you loosen the connection and drive again, the sound should change if it’s that seal. Hope this helps.

jack the vehical up onto jack stands and start it up and careful have someone drive the vehical and have a look and see what is going on or where the noise is coming from.
