Honda Accord A/C not working properly

Hey guys, a/c question. I have a 1993 Honda Accord. The a/c blows cold then will blow regular air with no cool air, like if you just have the fan on, and does so intermittently. I have dogs that go with me everywhere and i was wondering if the dog hair in the car is being sucked in and clogging the evaporator under the dash? Could dog hair make the ac not cool properly? I currently use the a/c recycle button, should i use the fresh air button instead? Thanks in advance, Jim

If the ac coil was clogged with hair you would not
feel any air from the blower.Have you had you ac refrigerant
checked? when running the ac keep it in recirculate mode.

Collegeman, had the system recharged, but still having problems. It starts blowing cold but then after a few minutes will start blowing regular temperature outside air. The compressor clutch is working, but i notice that the compressor clutch cycles on and off. Any thoughts, thanks

if you just had it recharged.check the compressor relay is
fully seated.

A/C problems are difficult to guess at without knowing pressures. It sounds like the compressor may be short cycling if you mean the clutch is kicking in and out quickly and that can be due to a system with an incorrect refrigerant charge.

I would hope that whoever charged the unit did a leak check also.

When the car starts blowing warm air, does the light on the A/C button turn off?

I agree with Bluesnut and believe the compressor is turning itself off because of an incorrect refrigerant charge – you may have a pinhole leak somewhere.

DormanPartFail, the light on the A/C button stays on. The compressor was cycling on and off before i even had it recharged. Hope it is not the evaporator or expansion valve, but will have to have it looked at.
