Hi guys I’m new to forum but not to Eric works. Since he always say come to forum to ask question here we go I have what I call a stuff one..In order for you to understand better let me start from the beginning. I have a 05 accord 4 cyl, in 2010 engine light started coming up intermittently(car was still under warranty). I took to the dealer at the time I didn’t know much about car just how to change oil. So they came back saying car is running too lean P0171, that I probably had bad gas. They recommended doing a throttle body clean up and using better gas. Well issue persisted I went back to dealer. They ran all sort of test on map/maf sensor …fuel pressure etc. everything came back green. So since car was under warranty they were going to replace my fuel injectors all 4. I say no problem. They got replace and also did valve adjustment. same issue. I went back and they call Honda. Honda recommend them taking my tank off and cleaning and changing my fuel lines. At this point I was more at the dealer than at work. So warranty was almost over so I just gave up..No warranty means every times my car broke I had to take a lot of money out of my pocket to fix my car. So that when I decided to become DIY. Got myself service manual and found a lot of video on youtube ….So in 2011 I had some money to spare on parts. so after reading all sort of thing online I decided to change my MAP, MAF, O2s all oem..Sadly same issue…Just a little note I forgot to mention this p0171 came up usually between the months of late sep to April. Rest of the year no engine light….So I continue with my quest. WHILE checking vacuum line and other thing. I found two issues, one was the motor mount vacuum was off and also found a rip on the air tube. fix both issue I was so excited same issue..So I decided to get myself the honda HIM. Best investment ever made. With this I was able to verified all part I have previously replace they were working ok.and with this I also confirm most of the time although I may not have an engine light I’m running lean. So last year I continue my quest to find the issue with this car. I replace all intake manifold gaskets also exhaust gasket no improvement. Lastly since it was just like 30 dollars I decided to replace my fuel filter and regulator which is part of the fuel pump assembly same issue here..Then one day I decided to pinch the line for the evap canister valve. My short term went from 10 to 0. I try that a few times. It was persistent results. So I thought I had found my issue. So I replace my valve same issue…At this point of course I want to give up but I just can’t give up. After monitoring some reading this what I notice. In the morning the car short term and long term are beautiful as the day progress it get worse. (I do a lot of stop and go I make about 10 different stop at day) Also I notice sometimes I open my fuel cap the short term goes to 0 but this doesn’t always give the same results.. Any advice sorry the short story..
