      Hey Fellas,

Over the past few weeks i’ve noticed that my hoist rocks on the way down, at first i didn’t really think much of it, but since i’ve had different cars and different conditions its consistantly doing it too a point where i have to stop constantly so the car won’t fall off, the’re regularly serviced by engineers every 6 months.

Just wondering if anyone has every experienced something like this before

      Cheers

        What kind of hoist?

There is obviously a problem if you are in fear of the car coming off the lift…

It’s a 3tonne 2 post hoist made by molar engineering, doesn’t matter now anyway, the engineers who service them are gonna look at it

Maybe you’re not setting up the vehicle correctly on the lift? The arms have to be in a secure spot!

Yeah naah, even if one pad was for some reason slightly lower than the others the car will only move ever so slightly when its jolted, rather than the whole vehicle/hoist get a bad rock.

It actually turned out that the tracks that the bearings ride on up and down which locate the arms on the posts were dry, gave them a healthy dose of sillicone spray and she’s all good
