high idle after timing belt change 99 ACCORD

hi guys i just did a timing belt water pump seals the whole nine yards on a honda accord and i just finished it off and started the car up after topping off the fluids and when i started it up it had a really high idle like 5000 rpm so i shut the engine off ASAP what went wrong.

Its getting air from somewhere. Take off the air inlet tube and observe the throttle body (butterfly). You have a problem with the throtle linkage or an open vaccum port. It can’t run that fast without the butterfly open or lots of air.

Since you just replaced the water pump you need to bleed the air out of the cooling system. Start with that and then recheck for the condition.
