I work at a local shop and happened to be doing a brake service today on a 2012 porche cayenne (yes the test drive afterward was fun).

My main question is about the brake pad wear sensor mounted into the pads. I found these very hard to get off of the pads without damaging them. Fortunately for me the sensors were damaged from the brake pads wearing too low, but I imagine that these brake wear sensor/wire assemblies are generally replaced with the brake pads at the dealership correct?

just wondering about this should I run into similar brake systems in the future.

for reference, here’s a picture of what I’m talking about:

New sensors come with new pads, you don’t re-use them

          +1

You’ll find these on a lot of German makes, not just Porsche.
