High beams trip circuit breaker -.-

So I had to repair the whole circuit because it wasn’t working whatsoever switches were unplugged but yay now the headlights work but as soon as you flick high beams on it trips the circuit breaker is it possible for the breaker to be bad or the relay it has a separate relay between low and high beams

Low beams are fine but yea i’m pretty rusty on the electrical systems

Sounds more like a short to ground on the high beam circuit, but it could be a number of things. What make year, model, maybe someone has a wiring diagram we could glance at and give you a better idea.

My bad its a 1994 Ford XG Falcon ill add i did found 2 wires hanging out the bottom of either the low or high beam relay don’t remember which 1 it was (they are right next to each other) but could it be possible i mixed them wires around and it would cause it to work but then short out but i’m pretty sure I got that right

Pretty much the copper terminals on the relay are the high amp and means the bigger wire and the steel terminals are low amp? that’s pretty much what I did and if I did screw it up wouldn’t it just not work at all? so yea i’m pretty sure I got that right but just a thought

Hmmm I bet it’s a short to ground. I can’t find a wiring diagram because it’s an Aussie market only car. There are two wires hanging disconnected?

Was, I found them, crimped new connectors onto the ends of them because they had fallen off and plugged them back into the bottom the relay and hoped for the best pretty much but it wouldn’t work if I did it wrong right?
