High Beams

I have gone through two sets of headlights and have had the same problem with both; they keep going out! It starts with the passenger side then the driver and is only the high beams that go out. Is there an electrical issue or something else? What should I do?

First-what are we working on? what type of lights
are they? bulb,sealed beam? OE style upgrades?
how long do they take to burn out.

It would be good if I clarified that, hu? LOL Its a 1991 Nissan Pathfinder XE. The bulbs are Salvania Ultra’s and they are oe I think….idk, all I know is they are around $30 a pair. The usual life of the high beams are about three months before they start going out. Oh, I also forgot to mention, one will go out for about a week or so then come back on for about the same time, then off/on. Once the first goes out, the other one will be close behind, acting the same; off, on, back and forth then out for good. I hope that helps clear things out some :-/

I had the same problem with the sylvania
brand.They work for about 3 months if you
are lucky. Then they blow.I thought I was doing
something wrong after 4 sets.I put the stock
halegen bulbs in and have not had a problem
since. The brighter light is nice. But for the
money and short lived life.Not worth it.

I discovered the problem was with the relay at the steering wheel toggle. Replaced the switch and everything is working fine now! 🙂

Even with the fix. keep us posted on how long they last.
I never had any luck with the sylvania.
