hey guys I have a 2001 ford ranger 2wd 2.3l FI dohc 4 cyl. and my battery is dead I tried jump starting it and I won’t start. I put sta-bil fogging oil in the throat of the carb and it starts for a second and dies. my mom’s husband thinks that it is because the fuel line are frozen. any help will be awesome.

You do not give any specifics concerning the weather in your area, so frozen fuel line is possible.
Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the IGN on? if not could be a faulty fuel pump
Have you check the fuel pressure with a gauge?

Instead of jumping, have you tried a new or known good battery?

When cranking, does the engine rotate at normal speed, or is it slow and chuggy?

the weather is right 25-35 degrees ferenheight, and I do not hear the fuel pump kick on, and I do not have a fuel pressure gauge. I went to go start it yesterday to go get some dry gas. and it started and ran. but idk for how long.

I do not have a good battery but I charged it and it brought the battery back to life. and cranks over normally.
