I’ve looked, and there are no good videos online of a front sway bar swap from an Acura TLS to a 03-07 Accord. As I’m sure you know, this is a very popular modification among the Accord community. I really want to do this swap, but unfortunately I don’t have access to a lift and I’m not comfortable working under the car jacked high enough to do this swap. I speak for many when I say there needs to be a video out there of how to do this swap. And what better producer than ETCG to accomplish this? I know it would be a very popular video.

I’ve got a true win win proposal. I’d be willing to come to Ohio from Illinois if you wanted to make a video of swapping out the front sway bar on my 2005 Honda Accord. What are your thoughts, Eric?

Thanks for the suggestion. Honestly, it’s not something I’ve heard as much about as you claim. Not to say that I know about everything. Honda suspensions, especially during those years are quite good out of the box.

To be honest, I’m booked through March at this time. Mostly with the Fairmont project which I plan to get into after the firs of the year. After that I hope to concentrate on Fixing it Forward.

Swapping sway bars is not difficult at all. In fact, if you watch any of the videos where I swap stabilizer links you’re more than half way there. In fact, the links are the hardest part of the job.

Thanks for the suggestion and good luck.

Here’s a 39-page thread on a Honda forum on the swap.

I’m an avid DIY’er, and I’m not worried about the links since I have access to a lot of tools. The issue is getting the old bar out and the new bar installed, which is the issue as explained several times throughout the thread. It involves loosening the sub frame, and using different techniques to fish the old bar out and back into the car. The car needs to be elevated, the higher the better for this swap.

I agree that the suspension is pretty good from the factory, but the consensus is that the Acura sway bar swap is the best ‘bang for buck’ mod on these Accords. Everyone raves about how it improves the handling over the stock sway bars.

It’s up to you, Eric. I’m not necessarily in a hurry to get this done but I’ll leave the offer on the table. For one, I don’t think a sway bar swap is going to come up in a fixing it forward scenario. But thank you for your consideration.

I agree, it’s not likely to come up in a Fixing it Forward scenario. That said, it’s not likely I’ll be making a video of the swap anytime soon. I’ll have my hands full with the Fairmont project and Fixing it Forward in the coming year. If room in the schedule comes up I’ll be sure to reach out to see if you’re still available.

Good luck with the swap if I don’t get to it before then. It doesn’t sound too bad if you have the right tools.
