      Hi,

I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey EXL, and I need to replace the front fuel injector base (sometimes called lower intake manifold). The FSM isn’t clear on whether or not you have to remove the entire head to get it off, or if there is a way just to remove this one part. (These are the “pipes” that are below the intake manifold, which hold the fuel injectors and are what the intake manifold fasteners screw into.)

Are there any techs familiar with this engine who can let me know if the whole head has to come off or if it’s possible to reach through/around the part to get it off? I really don’t want to pull a perfectly good head to fix a vacuum leak… I’ve attached an image of the part itself (grabbed from eBay), and an image of where it sits in the assembly.

Thanks so much in advance for your help and time!

i dont now this engine well but looking at the diagram you will not have to remove the head just the intake manifold part number 8 below link . i say this as in the diagram there is no engine timing parts shown. just the intake manifold . and it will be a very crap design to have to take the head off for an intake gasket . as it needs to intake before the vales. hope this helps

Thanks for the response, but I’m talking about the part below the intake manifold–the part that the intake manifold in the diagram bolts into. The top comes out with no problem.

I’m with you–It would be a crap design to have to pull a head to change a gasket, but I’m hoping to get some confirmation that it’s possible to get a wrench on all the fasteners while keeping the heads in place.
