Hello. I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey. I was removing the tensioner bearing for the timing belt and this piece fell on the floor. Does anyone know what this is. It doesn’t look like anything that goes with the timing belt, but I wanted to make sure. Im not sure what it is.

        No expert on Honda …
But is this the piece you removed?

If so could that be an insert to where it bolts on???

Yes, that’s the one. I checked some videos online and the honda parts lists diagram and I didn’t see any such part. So I was wondering if it was something that I got caught up while driving or if it’s too something else that’s not critical.

            Wish I could tell you.
Best suggestion I can offer is that you look at any parts listings that involves the area your working on.
Perhaps it will show up in another part of the assembly.

personlly I would try to match it up to any of the parts the dealer sells by checking the diagrams and see if any thing matches and talk to them maybe they can give you an idea or talk to some of ther service tech there and see if they can give you some idea and then you can goto the parts deptment and match it up… but is there any part numers on it or any defining marks you can see????

After looking at several on-line parts websites, I didn’t see that part included in your timing belt repair kits.

Best I can tell you is that it looks like it would fit nicely in the mounting bore of the tensioner pulley. Perhaps it’s a dead-simple piece, like a spacer, which doesn’t wear out and nobody includes in their timing belt repair kits, (for competitive pricing reasons), the idea being that you re-use the old one.

Thank you for all your help. I looked at the timing belt diagrams online and I didn’t see the part listed, so I completed the timing belt job and have had no problems since then. I’ll just keep an eye on things. Thanks again!
