I started a project on my Celica a few months back and got a bit derailed due to family stuff. I took lots of pictures of the stuff I was unfamiliar with but somehow missed a picture of the one thing I actually needed a picture to be sure of, which is this…

My assumption is that the connection on the right, which branches off from the same set of wires that lead to the fuse box in the background, went under the terminal on the left as I removed it in an odd way, and the shape of the wires roughly lines up. Being that it is electrical in nature though, I refuse to guess as that is my one big weakness still. For some reason I don’t remember removing this wire at all but there it is. For the record, that terminal goes to the positive post.

It figures it would be something ridiculous that is holding me back. Once I get this taken care of I can get back to actually fixing stuff I didn’t just remove and forget where it went, like the valve seals.

Your right not to guess. I would get a wiring diagram if I were you just to be on the safe side. You can get a free one here:

        Don’t take any chances.

if its a positive cable then its gonna go to a load
device.starter, alternator ect… The cable is only so long.
try to stretch it to see what it reaches. it also looks
like it has a bracket.look for faded paint and holes for the
          bracket.

Thanks guys. With your help and crossposting to Celica specific forums I confirmed that it sits under the positive cable. Once I stuck it in it fit perfectly along the bracket. Now I can get to the important stuff as soon as the parts come in, and finally update my post in the WAUWO forum.

What’s especially embarassing about this scenario is it means it wasn’t the first time I removed it… Obviously had to to replace the battery to remove it! I guess trying hard to keep up with everything else pushed it out of memory, but glad to have it back in place. Had my marking solution worked this would have been much easier.

Also, I need to to learn to read wiring diagrams… That stuff is crazy. I know I watched part of one of Eric’s videos on them so I need to study that one as hard as I did his others.

Whatever little tips help, pictures are a great idea and can be very helpful. I like to keep my parts and fasteners organized, this helps with reassembly later but with big jobs like that it’s not hard to loose your way. Don’t beat yourself up too much.
