The car is 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, it has the GM passkey 3 anti-theft with a resistance chip in the key. I only have one key (I know, not too smart) and I have lost it. Does anyone know what the process is for getting a new key? Dealership is closed until Monday. Hopefully I don’t have to have it towed there, but I can’t even take it out of park or unlock the steering wheal anyway.

I am not sure, but If you have the VIN numbers, and proof of ownership you might get lucky fining a locksmith with transponder keys. They are out there. I would pick up the phone-book, and call everyone I could find. If the business is closed, look for 24 emergency numbers.

If you find one, and they cut it. I would get a spare on ebay. Mine on Ebay cost around $150.00 bucks, and then you have it cut.

ya i have seen aftermarket passlock keys too. As with anything aftermarket they are not as good as the OEM, but it would make a good spare i guess.

As suggested a lock smith or the dealer.

OK, apparently the dealer can cut a new key from my VIN but I have to program it myself. Found the programing instructions on this site http://my.cardone.com/techdocs/PT%2077-0011.pdf Thanks for the help guys.
