First off Im new, Hello everybody! This guys videos have been so hopeful so far especially the exhaust leak one.

But now my question. I’m about to buy a BMW 525i from a Woman and she said it runs loud! & LOSES power when she goes up hills.

She said I will need to buy a new exhaust. Do you think the exhaust is the problem? Or it could be the problem? What are the chances?

      Thank you all!

I would walk, NO RUN away from that deal. Everything is expensive for that car and you have NO idea what problems it really has if any.

But its not that bad of a problem is it? She just says it has a hard time going up hills sometimes?

What could I do to fix that? Wht could possibly be the problem?

          Thanks!

I agree with wysetech,Beemer’s can be nice cars, but the problem of seeing a car needing a potential muffler along with it struggling to climb a hill is not good. I had a friend who had one, didn’t have a muffler and it was a V8,it was loud but also ran smooth. I’m doubting the muffler is the issue.

What could the issue possibly be then?

If the problem was just the muffler then maybe but I doubt if it is the cause of low power.

Those cars are very sophisticated and anything that goes wrong with them is usually very expensive. It’s even hard getting people who really know how to repair them.

You didn’t give us all the particulars on the car but the low power could be caused by many things.

The cars have very delicate engines, they often leak a little coolant from a crack in the radiator outlet and then the whole engine self-destructs in just a few minutes.

I would avoid these cars altogether. They sure look nice but they can be a bottomless money pit.

This particular car, the engine power problem could be a $6 air filter or a $6000 engine, more likely nearer the latter.

TO survey a car, go to google and type “this car model problems forum”.
