Hey ETCG, you are awesome!!! I’m a DIY’er and I learn so much from your channel. But I am in need my friend. I have a 09 Cadillac CTS AWD 3.6L base model and got a code P0751. I ran the scanner and it shows its a shift solenoid. But I have been searching the internet and can’t find the shift solenoid for that car anywhere. I’m not even sure if it located inside or outside the tranny. So far I have been getting by, by switching to sport mode and skipping gears.

So my questions are : Does this car even have a shift solenoid ? If does, is it on the inside or outside of the tranny ? And where can I get one( might be user error, typing wrong string in search)

The closest I got to finding the part was this :

      http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8475852&cc=1442758&jsn=437

But I’m not sure if this is the right part I need. Since all my other Honda solenoids look different.

      symptoms:

Dead stop + throttle = kicks
(release brake, gas on 1st gear to rev RPM once rolling, jump to 2nd to catch up)

highway + maintain speed, on any uphill slope = chuggle and speed and rmp decreasing
Have to downshift to re-normalize and placed back in proper gear once stable.
      (typically 4/5/6 gear)

Any help you provide me would be greatly appreciated. -J

well – that’s not a solenoid, that’s a valve (it is apparently driven by the solenoid in question, because if it drags/sticks, it can cause the P0751 code to be thrown)

Thanks for the info, but that was the closest thing I could find on the net. I read it was supposed to address the p0751 error, but I didn’t want to drop the pan and TCM to change the valve by itself with out the solenoid. Didn’t want to do all the work and still ended back up where I started. Well, I have a 50/50 chance it might work,,,,,lol….thanks again for the response.
