Hello from the middle of nowhere in Missouri!

Thought I would introduce myself. I work on my own SUV because I HAVE to (no longer fun with back injury) and have been looking for a good website with detailed, legit info.
Many years ago I worked at a BMW dealership in shipping & receiving in the parts dept. I went to a community college for mechanics but didn’t stick with it because it was very intimidating being the only lady in my class and the guys giving me that not – so – nice look. I ultimately wound up working on computers which I enjoy.
I have a 1998 Suburban 4×4 which of course being old has it’s quirks, like the Passlock system randomly shutting down my fuel system and leaving it down for several hours but overall runs great. I look forward to reading up on the forums and maybe putting in my 2 cents worth once in awhile. Nice to meet everyone 🙂

i’m sorry to hear that you felt intimidated in your class. i am currently in an auto program and we have several ladies that fit in quite well.

i’m not sure if times have changed or guys are finally open to the fact that the auto world needs less sausage.

i personally love to see a women turning a wrench.. it’s kinda hot. :side:

I believe women make better technicians anyhow as they are allot more detailed 🙂

And i feel your pain with your back issues. I had spinal surgery last year and still, working in the automotive field as a technician, i still have those painful days.
