Retired from working at a Fortune 50 company for 6 years now. 30+ years working with computers from little 8 bit embedded controllers up 36 bit scientific mainframes (if you have never heard of a 36 bit computer, you aren’t old enough)
Started handing my Dad wrenched when I was 10 or 12. By 15 I was doing all the maintenance on the family fleet (lots of oil changes, spark plugs and points).
I still enjoy doing basic maintenance on my vehicles. Saved about $200 replacing center link, inner and outer tie rods on my 1998 E-150 Club Wagon last year. Sure drove funny on the way to the alignment shop !
