Hello from Ohio

Hi everyone. I’m brand new to the forum after watching ETCG on youtube.

I’m starting a job at a local tire place as a technician while I attend school.

No idea what it’s like working with an A tech or anything like that. Any experiences are welcome.

Welcome to the site! A techs are usually very knowledgeable and I have always took their advice under consideration myself. I worked alongside 2 of them and they were both very helpful in furthering my own experience and skills.

Thanks! I appreciate you sharing your experience with me. Seems like all we hear is the negative. I wonder if some techs train someone and they think they might be trainig their replacement?

I honestly have no idea how long someone is a B tech, and what an A tech teaches them. Again any input is greatly appreciated

I tend to get along with people older than me because I’m quite old fashioned for someone my age(cmon I only listen to the oldies and drive a classic truck..it gives us a to to relate to and talk about. The A techs I work with and have worked with are all older than me by at least 10 years. I am a B tech currently(according to my boss) although I can perform multiple A tech jobs such as rebuilding an engine or transmission. I got to where I am by hanging with people 10, 20, 30 and even 40 years older than me. Age brings wisdom..remember that.
