When I was in College the 1999 and 2000 model Honda Civic Si was released. At the time I could not afford one, and the prices for these rather rare little cars was very high. 6 months ago I was surfing through CraigsList, and found a 99 Honda Civic Si w/ only 131k miles on it. Ended up buying the car for 3500 dollars. 6 months later I have spent another 1600 dollars in parts, and nearly every weekend has been eaten up with putting this car back together properly.

After all this time, and money being spent… I wish that manufacturers could make a car like this one again. Just a plain simple car without any kind of electronic nannies.

So, I have basically exhausted my personal knowledge of repairing Hondas… So, here I am reading a lot of forum threads, and watching a lot of ETCG videos (BTW… Thanks Eric).

I am a Network Engineer by trade, and own several cars:

      1970 Datsun 240z
      1956 Dodge Power Wagon
      2011 Chevrolet Cruze RS turbo
      and this little Civic.

If you need any assistance with any of the above vehicles, I might just be able to help. The Dodge was my first vehicle, and the Datsun I purchased after High School… That was many many years ago.

      Anyway, Hello from Northwest Arkansas!

Welcome to the party. My little brother had a 2000 SI once while he was still young enough to have fast & furious ambitions. I helped him do a lot of work to it and he did a great job with it too. He learned a valuable lesson in priorities with that car. Get the better clutch first, THEN try the bigger shot of nitrous.

Not really looking for a fast and furious car. I like the Si in stock form…. I live in the Ozarks… So having a good handelling car is a good thing. It also helps that the Si is also one of the most uncomplicated cars made in 1999-00. Also the one that I found has leather interior that was installed by the dealership.
