      Ok, a weird situation (possibly)

I have two cars; an Audi TT and a Ford Cmax (I’m in the UK, i’m not sure what these are branded as in the US).

I woke up on Saturday morning to find that both cars driver side doors will no longer open when using the fob. I’m having to lean through the cars from the passenger side to operate the handle manually. All the other doors still operate from the fob just fine. I can hear the locking mechanism move but to no avail.

Is this just a massive coincidence or is there foul play involved?

Nothing has been taken from the cars and there doesn’t appear to be any sign of forced entry.

      Anyone got an opinion?

      thanks

This would be too big of a coincidence for me to believe. Sounds like someone tried (and failed) to break in.

Agree with above, one is possible, two at the same time seems highly unlikely… may want to pop off the door trim and take a look for gremlin – like activity…

The micro switches in the lock mechanism are a common failure point in the audi TT the ford C max the only major incident with those were keyless entry versions being incredibility easy to steal, I’m not sure of any technique that would break the locking mechanism in this way without leaving any noticeable damage.

Most thefts in the UK are carried out by signal jamming and signal relaying I wont go into massive detail as it’s mostly all out there online keyless being especially easy to steal by signal jamming then programming a key via the OBD

Or the much more basic route of stealing the keys.

The days of being using break in tools and airbags are very quickly dieing out.
