Hard start in morning 84 Chevy Truck

Hi. Have a 1984 Chevrolet full size truck with 4 barrel carburetor with electric choke and electric fuel pump. The problem is the truck is hard to start in the morning, turns over, but will not start. But the truck starts fine in the afternoon when the outside temperature warms up. Any ideas to what could cause this? Thanks, Jim

couple of things Jim. Check that the choke plate and linkage does close and work.
Is fuel being sprayed when the pedal is hit 1-2 times?
