hard putting it into park

hi gang-
hoping to get a clue here….
for the last couple of days my wife’s ’95 honda accord (automatic) has been tough to put in and out of park….everything else moves fine though.

other info: oil light flickered on a couple days ago very briefly but went back off. probably unrelated but thought i’d mention it.

any thoughts?

as far as i know the oil lite is for engine oil not sure about transmission oil. 1st thing id check is the transmission fluid level (if there is a dipstick) I would also check the shifter linkage cable. Perhaps the cable is out of adjustment hence making it hard to put into park.

might be the shift linkage for giggles spray some WD-40 on it.it might work worth a shot

Lol my first thought. Oil light = bad. I should mention a clogged oil catch screen could cause this light to flicker. let us know your findings

UPDATE:

i was busy all week and was planning on looking at the car this weekend (it’s my wife’s daily driver), but to my surprise, it was fine and has been for several days according to her. so….not sure what that was all about but it left as quickly as it arrived……
