Im in the market for a couple of new ratchets, it seems as though all of the tool manufacturers have went to the comfort grip handles instead of the hard plastic handles. I have a Cornwell ratchet with the comfort grip and it just starts to come apart and I don’t like it. Does anybody know of a company still making the hard handles? Also just wondering if you all prefer to have a handle or no handle?

If you are looking for some good quality ratchets with the plastic style handle check out titan tool company. I own several different ones from them and really like them. you can find them on amazon and northern tools. they have great reviews from other owners.

I will check into that, thanks. The only thing could be a problem is getting them warrantied and the time it would take to ship it back and fourth should they fail. I am heavy truck mechanic so they will be used professionally.

being that you would be using them in a shop/field setting replacing them could be a time issue. mine are used strickly in my home setup and if there was a prob it would not set me back time wise. I have multiple other brands of ratchets as well. you would probably be best served by staying with a brand off of the tool truck. especially when it comes to warranty issues.

If you are using them professionally , I would stick with plane steel handle ratchets . They are still made ?

snap-on still makes them with the soft grip or the plane steel. i like the plan kind because the grip cant break apart
